Scheduled Caribbean Ocean Dives
Our scheduled dives depart daily at 9:30, 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
The Divemaster selects the specific site based on ocean conditions and individual diver requests. So, don't forget to request your favorite. Once you complete your check-in, which includes verification of your certification card and a brief orientation to the Dive Store, you are ready to go.
The dive begins at our staging area in front of the dive shop where you assemble and check your equipment. A Divemaster is always at hand to assist you if needed. We allow a maximum of 8 divers per boat. The average dive group is four to six divers per trip. Because the majority of our dive sites are within a 10-minute boat ride, most are single tank dives. Special two-tank dives are easily arranged.
For the non-certified person wishing to experience scuba diving we offer specialized dives with instructors (please see the Recreational Diving Instruction section of this website).
Chivalry is not dead, we prefer to carry the ladies tanks to the boat. Gentlemen,
you are on your own unless you request special assistance for the 100 foot
walk across the beach to our open style outboard-motor boats. A final dive
briefing is conducted on the boat just prior to departure.
The 9:30 AM dive is our scheduled deep dive of the day. The depth of our morning dive ranges from 70 to 100 feet, site dependent. The 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM dives are 40 to 60 feet, site dependent.
Upon return to the dive shop you will proceed to the rinse tank area to disassemble your equipment. For your convenience and comfort, The Akumal Dive Shop provides you with hot water showers and use of our standard lockers. Deluxe lockers are available for rent.
One Single Tank Dive $ 50.00 Usd

The price of the open-water boat dive includes an 80 cubic ft. aluminum tank, weight belt / weights, and boat trip. See the rental equipment section if you need additional items.
