Instructor Level Specialty Certification Course Catalog
Introduction
There are three methods available for PADI Instructors to get certified to teach specialty courses using the PADI system. If you have certified at least 25 students and have a minimum of 20 dives in a specialty area you can apply directly to PADI and use their outlines. If you are unsure how to use PADI's outlines or want to teach a specialty course immediately, then you should take our Course Director Specialty Workshop courses.
The courses consist of a complete review of the teaching outline, completion of all the student's required in water skills, and submission of an application form to PADI Headquarters so that you can start teaching that course immediately. Throughout the classroom and water work, you will be shown the finer points of what to look for when you conduct your own programs. The in-water training requires 50% of the student required dives (i.e. Wreck Diver Specialty requires 4 dives for student certification, 2 dives for instructor certification).
The ability to put together a Master Scuba Diver Trainer package (Instructor Certification in 5 specialties) will allow you to become very comfortable in many new areas-- in just a few days. This certification not only improves your marketability but it also gets you to the level where you can become an IDC Staff Instructor. When you achieve this prestigious level, you will be able to teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors.
Let us help you design a package so that you and your students can enjoy the many areas of continuing education!
