Search & Recovery

People sometimes drop objects from a boat or during a scuba diving trip. If you like to be the diver who volunteres to retrive a lost object, the PADI Search and Recovery Specialty course is for you.

Learn the proper techniques to search for lost objects underwater, and become familiar with the right tools use to safely bring an object to the surface.

This course gives you the opportunity to learn the important aspect of planning a search such as collecting information and resources. You will also practice the following skills during the dives:

  • Planning a search and recovery dive
  • Search patterns using a compass and natural navigation
  • how to find objects using the different search patterns
  • Different recovery methods as well as the use of the lift bag for large or heavy objects

 

Prerequisites:

  • PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Underwater Navigator
  • Be at least 12 years old

 

Course Duration: 2 days, 4 open water dives.

 

Course Fee: $4,500 MXN.

 

The first dive of this specialty course may credit as an Adventure dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

Course Includes:

  • All Equipment: Mask, fins, snorkel, regulator, BCD, wetsuit, aluminum tank, weight belt, weights
  • Study material and instruction
  • PADI Search and Recovery Diver certification card
  • Use of daily locker, changing room and showers
